As
a Scorpio, foreign languages have always held a special fascination for me. There's something about the way language reflects culture and the way it can open doors to new worlds that I find endlessly intriguing. Growing up, I was lucky enough to have exposure to several different languages. My parents are both native speakers of Mandarin Chinese, so I learned to speak that from a young age. Additionally, I was enrolled in a Spanish immersion program in elementary school, which gave me a strong foundation in that language. In high school, I continued studying Spanish and also added French to my repertoire. But even as I continued to study these languages, I found myself drawn to less common ones. In college, I decided to take on the challenge of learning Arabic. It was a difficult language to master – the script was completely foreign to me, and the grammar was complex – but I loved the way the language sounded and the rich history and culture it represented. Since then, I've continued to dabble in other languages. I've studied Russian with a private tutor, and I've dabbled in Italian and Portuguese on my own. Each language has its own unique charm and challenges, but I've found that the more languages I learn, the better I understand the world and the people in it. Of course, speaking multiple foreign languages definitely has its practical benefits as well. It's easier to travel and navigate unfamiliar places when you can understand the local language. And in today's globalized world, being bilingual or multilingual is practically a requirement for certain jobs and industries. There's something deeply satisfying about being able to communicate with people from different cultures and backgrounds, and to experience their worlds through the lens of their language. As a Scorpio, I'm always looking to explore new depths and uncover hidden truths. For me, foreign languages are one more way to do that – a way to expand my understanding of the world and myself.
